Randstad could sell payroll processing operations
AMSTERDAM, June 17 (Reuters) - Dutch staffing company Randstad NV (RAND.AS) may sell its Dutch payroll processing unit HR Services due to margin pressure and the takeover of Vedior, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
"All options are open," said the spokeswoman, confirming that this included a sale or closure of the business.
Randstad had already signed an agreement with privately owned Dutch payroll processor Raet to sell its payroll processing unit Gamma Dienstverlening, the spokeswoman said. Randstad bought Dutch rival Vedior last year, making it the world's second-largest jobs company by sales after Swiss Adecco (ADEN.VX). This made payroll processing a less important activity for Randstad, the spokeswoman said.
Payroll processing was "a non-material part" of Randstad's operations, said the spokeswoman, who declined to give numbers. (Reporting by Gilbert Kreijger; Editing by Dan Lalor)
