SANTANDER, June 18 (Reuters) - Spanish infrastructure group Abertis's (ABE.MC) motorway traffic registered a more moderate decline in May and June, its executive chairman said on Thursday, confirming a trend flagged by the company last month.

"May or June are going better than the first four months of the year. That's to say the second quarter will be better than the first ... but still worse than May or June a year earlier," Chairman Salvador Alemany said during a financial conference.

"At the moment, we think there will be a slow recovery in traffic levels, but it is very difficult to say what the situation will be at year-end until we see the impact of the summer motorways traffic," he said. (Reporting by Jesus Aguado; writing by Judy MacInnes)
