Italian Stocks - Factors to watch on June 22
MILAN, June 22 (Reuters) - The following factors could affect Italian markets on Monday.

FIAT (FIA.MI)
Fiat's plan for reconverting its Termini Imerese plant in Sicily away from car production as of 2012 is unacceptable, Il Messaggero said on Saturday, citing a Fiom trade union representative. Workers at the plant will meet on Monday to discuss the situation, it said.
INTESA SANPAOLO (ISP.MI)
The bank is interested in buying 50 of the 150 branches
Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS.MI) is selling for
antitrust reasons, the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported on
Saturday, citing financial sources. [ID:nLK320928]
The bank's CEO Corrado Passera said in an article published
in Sunday's Il Sole 24 Ore that banks can and must do more on
lending. But he added lending was not an "independent variable",
noting loans funded company turnover and investments both of
which were falling sharply.
* ENI (ENI.MI)
Expressions of interest to buy Eni's refinery at Livorno, or become industrial partner, will be examined at the end of July, Corriere Economia said on Monday, citing sources at the company.
ITALCEMENTI (ITAI.MI)
Italcementi and its French unit Ciments Francais (CMFP.PA)
have decided to suspend a final decision on their merger until a
meeting next week while confirming their favourable view of the
operation, they said on Friday. [ID:nLJ884157]
UBI BANCA (UBI.MI)
The bank said on Friday its offer to exchange a series of preferred and subordinated securities had attracted offers worth a nominal 640.45 million euros. It said it would issue extra securities for a total of 850 million euros. The nominal amount of securities UBI will buy for cash is 2.8 million euros. The annual coupon on the senior notes was equal to 4.939 percent.
UBI will also issue convertible bonds to the tune of 639 million euros, nominal value 12.75 euros each, to be offered to shareholders at a rate of 4 bonds every 51 shares. The bank's CEO confirmed in Sunday's Il Sole 24 Ore that the core Tier 1 ratio target for the year is around 7 percent.
ENEL (ENEI.MI)
About 99 percent of the group's 8 billion euro rights issue which closed on Friday has been subscribed, Italian newspapers said on Saturday. Libyan and Chinese sovereign funds have not, for now, participated, Saturday's Finanza & Mercati said, citing banking sources.
GEOX (GEO.MI)
Chairman Mario Moretti Polegato said in an interview with Borsa & Finanza on Saturday it is too early to say anything about future developments of sportwear brand Diadora which he has agreed to buy through his family's investment arm LIR.
TELECOM ITALIA (TLIT.MI), GENERALI (GASI.MI)
There are no plans for any merger between Telecom Italia and Spain's Telefonica (TEF.MC), Mediobanca board member Tarak Ben Ammar said in an interview with Corriere della Sera on Sunday. He added Generali will remain Italian. [ID:nLL401938] * La Repubblica on Monday in its Affari & Finanza pages talks of a possible alliance between Telecom, Fastweb (FWB.MI) and Wind to develop a common standard for IpTV.
SMALL, MID-CAPS
ERG (ERG.MI)
The group will post a 2009 EBITDA of 200 million euros from 540 million last year, Il Sole 24 Ore said on Sunday in its "Letter to Investors" page. Debt will rise to 700 million euros from 274 million.
EDISON (EDN.MI)
France's EDF (EDF.PA) has previously asked the mayor of the city of Milan, a key shareholder of A2A (A2.MI) that jointly controls Edison with EDF, to come up with proposals for the reorganisation of Edison's ownsership structure, Saturday's Il Giornale said, without citing sources. It said Italy is strategic for the French utility.
TISCALI (TIS.MI)
The group's board meets on Monday to price its capital increase.
BENETTON (BNG.MI)
Club Med (CMIP.PA) said on Friday Benetton has bought a 2
percent stake in the firm. [ID:nLJ205824]
BANCA ITALEASE (BIL.MI)
The bank said on Friday a Milan court has declared invalid its 2006 results, but added it reserves the right to appeal the decision. [ID:nLJ310651]
PININFARINA (PNNI.MI)
The final date for the second phase of the company's framework agreement regarding a capital increase and debt rescheduling has been postponed to September 30, the company said on Friday, as too has the mandate for selling majority shareholder Pincar's stake in the company.
