Shares in Regent Inns (REGI.L) slump as much as 25 percent as the bar operator says it is considering delisting from London's main market, confirming press reports saying the owner of Walkabout bars and Jongleurs comedy clubs is weighing the step as a way to cut costs.
Blue Oar analyst Mark Brumby says: "A delisting would allow Regent to restructure in private."
He adds that remaining listed with a market capitalisation so low means most transactions cost the company and its shareholders considerable expense.
