 WARSAW, June 24 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press
reports and events to watch which may affect Poland's financial

 RATES
 Poland's central bank's rate setting body ends its monthly
sitting. Analysts expect it to lower the main interest rate by
25 basis points to 3.5 percent.
 
 POLAND UPS BUDGET
 Poland on Tuesday raised its 2009 budget deficit target by
almost 50 percent to 27 billion zlotys, due to an economic
slowdown that has ravaged tax revenues and led to calls by
international lenders for sharp cuts in spending. [ID:nLN184960]
 
 FINANCE MINISTER
 Finance minister Jacek Rostowski faces a a no-confidence
vote on Friday at the parliament. The minister is expected to
remain in the office, as he enjoys a sound backing of
parliamentary majority.
 
 REPO OPERATIONS
 Poland's central bank may decide to roll over 6-month repo
operations it began providing in May to help boost liquidity in
the banking sector, a member of its monetary policy council was
quoted as saying on Tuesday.
 
 LOTOS CEO
 Lotos LTOS.WA chief executive Pawel Olechnowicz will
remain at the helm of Poland's second largest refiner, dailies
Rzeczpospolita and Parkiet reported on Wednesday. 
 
 PGNIG DIVIDEND
 Shareholders of Poland's dominant gas provider PGNiG
(PGNI.WA) voted for a 531 million zlotys ($163.3 million)
dividend at the behest of the state treasury and more than twice
the amount proposed by management. [ID:nLN888215]
 
 NUCLEAR ENERGY
 Poland must name a strategic investor for its first nuclear
plant next year in order to fulfil its plan of making the plant
operational in 2020, the new official in charge of the project
said on Tuesday.
 
 AGORA ON CEO
 Polish publisher Agora AGOD.WA said it again elected Piotr
Niemczycki for the post of the group's chief executive officer.
 
 MEDIA
 The Polish government dropped its plans to sell its stake at
daily Rzeczpospolita due to unsatosfactory offers and low
prices, Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad said on Wednesday in
Tok FM radio.
