STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-C&C rises on perry drink hopes, weather

Shares in drinks maker C&C (GCC.I) rise almost 3 percent to outperform most other Irish stocks after Goodbody Stockbrokers say their survey of British pubs showed strong uptake of C&C's new perry or pear cider drink.

"This news comes on top of other recent positive trends, including positive year-on-year sales in Ireland (versus declines assumed in our forecasts), relatively good summer weather (so far!) and the strengthening of sterling," Goodbody analyst Liam Igoe says in a note.
