HELSINKI, May 28 (Reuters) - Finnish utility Fortum (FUM1V.HE) said on Thursday it has signed a deal to provide electricity to South Africa-based papermaker Sappi's (SAPJ.J) operations in Finland, but it did not disclose the value of the deal.

Fortum said in a statement the agreement, which lasts until the end of 2012, includes the management of electricity hedging, help with energy use optimisation, and about 500 GWh of electricity for Sappi's two mills in Finland. (Editing by Hans Peters)
