French holding Eurazeo made 2008 net loss-paper
PARIS, March 30 (Reuters) - French financial holding company Eurazeo (EURA.PA) made a 2008 net loss of 61 million euros ($80.68 million), the Les Echos newspaper reported in its Tuesday edition.
Reuters obtained a copy of the newspaper's front page with the information on Monday evening. The newspaper said the loss was due to write-downs on its investments.
Eurazeo was not available for comment.
Eurazeo is due to publish its 2008 results on Tuesday morning. In 2007, it made a net attributable profit of 911.5 million and a net profit of 1.15 billion euros.
The group said in February that its 2008 consolidated sales were up 35.4 percent, or 1.7 percent on a like-for-like basis.
Eurazeo has large stakes in wholesaler Rexel (RXL.PA), leisure group Accor (ACCP.PA) and food company Danone (DANO.PA), among others. It also controls unlisted car rental company Europcar.
Eurazeo shares closed down 3.6 percent on Monday at 18.950 euros for a market capitalisation of 1.088 billion euros.
The shares have lost 41 percent so far this year, and they lost 60 percent in 2007. (Reporting by Marcel Michelson; Editing by Toni Reinhold)
