 DUBLIN, June 30 (Reuters) - These are some of the leading

 THE IRISH TIMES
- Taxes, the high cost of doing business here and lax
consumer attitudes are to blame for higher prices in the
Republic compared with Northern Ireland, according to a
Competition Authority report to be released today.
 - The Billy Wright inquiry will not seek to have Ian Paisley
jnr jailed for refusing to reveal a source because he wants
imprisonment too much, the High Court heard yesterday.
 - Former C&C (GCC.I) chief executive Maurice Pratt received
2.19 million euros ($3.1 million) from the ailing drinks firm
when his contract was terminated last year following a collapse
in its share price as sales and profits declined.


 IRISH INDEPENDENT
 - Prime Minister Brian Cowen will have to sack two senior
and two junior ministers if he accepts proposed public sector
cuts.
 - Anglo Irish Bank has received a key report into its
corporate governance practices in recent weeks -- but full
publication is likely to be held off pending the outcome of a
flurry of investigations into the nationalised lender.
 - ACC Bank has secured a summary judgment order for 6.2
million euros against developer Larry O'Mahony over
non-repayment of a commercial development loan issued four years
ago.
 
 IRISH EXAMINER
 - Average pay in the public service, excluding the health
service, is now 50,600 euros -- 12,000 euros more than the
average industrial wage, Central Statistics Office figures have
