- A joint congressional panel approved a law defining the country's maritime boundaries, recommending a scheme that would avoid a potential clash with claimant countries over disputed territories west of the Philippines. (BUSINESSWORLD)

- The government will allocate 25.12 billion pesos ($534 million) to create 1.3 million new jobs, including what it calls "green collar jobs" to protect the environment. (MANILA STANDARD TODAY, THE PHILIPPINE STAR)
