Rinascente had no contacts with Debenhams

MILAN (Reuters) - Italy's department store La Rinascente has had no contacts with retailer Debenhams (DEB.L) for a possible partnership, La Rinascente investor Maurizio Borletti told Reuters on Monday.

The Sunday Times newspaper has reported that Debenhams is seeking a merger partner in Europe.

German conglomerate KarstadtQuelle KARG.DE said on Sunday it had held talks with the retailer.
