Xcel to shut Tex. Harrington 1 coal unit for work
NEW YORK, June 5 (Reuters) - Xcel Energy Inc (XEL.N) plans to shut its 360-megawatt Harrington 1 coal-fired power unit in Texas beginning on June 5-6 for maintenance, the company told Texas regulators in a report on Friday.
The company plans to repair an exterior tube leak and perform other general maintenance activities as necessary, the report said.
The 1,066-MW Harrington power station is located in Amarillo in Potter County in the Texas Panhandle, part of the Southwest Power Pool.
The three units at the station burn low-sulfur coal supplied primarily from Wyoming's Powder River Basin.
