NEW YORK, May 6 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Wednesday:
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
Regulators said the stress test results showed Bank of America has a $34 billion capital shortfall, an industry source familiar with the results told Reuters. [ID:nN05520304]
The stock, a Dow component, soared 13 percent to $12.20.
CITIGROUP INC (C.N)
The bank may have to raise $5 billion to $10 billion in new capital in order to meet a U.S. government requirement that it holds up to $55 billion in capital, the New York Times reported on Wednesday. [ID:nBNG206245]
The stock, a Dow component, was up 5.7 percent at $3.50.
WALT DISNEY CO (DIS.N)
Shares of the media and entertainment group, a Dow component, rose 11 percent to $25.77 a day after it reported a 26 percent drop in second-quarter profit, though results beat expectations. [ID:nN05507452]
EBAY INC (EBAY.O)
The online auction site said it would close its Vancouver facility in a move to consolidate its North American consumer service centers. The facility employs 700 people. [ID:nN05483215]
Shares rose 0.3 percent to $17.25.
MARSH & MCLENNAN COS INC (MMC.N)
The insurance broker reported adjusted earnings that missed expectations. [ID:nN05536504]
Shares rose 6.9 percent to $22.
FORTRESS INVESTMENT GROUP LLC (FIG.N)
Shares of the hedge fund company rose 12 percent to $7.43 on Wednesday after the company reported a first-quarter loss, but topped expectations. [ID:nN06508979]
ORBITZ WORLDWIDE INC (OWW.N)
The online travel agency reported adjusted first-quarter earnings of 1 cent a share. The consensus expectation was for a loss of 2 cents a share. [ID:nN06487116]
Shares rose 17 percent to $2.46.
AMAZON.COM INC (AMZN.O)
Shares of the online retailer slid 0.9 percent to $81.20 after it introduced a new version of its Kindle e-reader product, which sells for $489. [ID:nN06192193]
GARMIN LTD (GRMN.O)
Shares of the navigation device maker fell 15 percent to $21.81 after it reported first-quarter results that were below the Wall Street view. [ID:nBNG124523]
TALBOTS INC (TLB.N)
Shares of the women's apparel retailer tumbled 14 percent to $2.60 after it affirmed its expectation for a first-quarter loss and said it would no longer report quarterly sales results separately. [ID:nN061452]
PARKER DRILLING CO (PKD.N)
Shares of the drilling company rose 14 percent to $3.70 after it reported adjusted first-quarter results that beat expectations. [ID:nBNG435826]
TRANSOCEAN LTD (RIG.N)
The shipping company reported a decline in its quarterly results and revenue that was flat with the prior year. [ID:nN06504281]
