SC Johnson tries to sell shaving unit-FT
NEW YORK, May 6 (Reuters) - SC Johnson, which owns the Edge and Skintimate brands of shaving gel, is trying to sell its shave preparations business, the Financial Times said on its website late Wednesday.
The unit could be valued at about $200 million, the report said, citing people with knowledge of the sale process.
Several potential buyers have looked at the asset, which brings in about $80 million in annual revenue, the report said. Energizer Holdings (ENR.N), owner of the Schick shaving brand, appears to be the unit's most likely buyer, the report said.
Wisconsin-based SC Johnson, which has been family-owned for five generations, sells a range of other well-known household products including Ziploc storage bags, Saran wrap, Raid insect killer and cleaning agents Pledge, Windex and Fantastik. (Reporting by Jui Chakravorty; Editing by Gary Hill)
