Chile brewer CCU H1 profits up 36 pct on sale gain
* Profit up 35.7 pct, mostly on sale of part of unit
* Revenue up 2.3 pct
SANTIAGO, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Chile's largest brewer, CCU (CCU.SN) (CCU.N), said its profits rose 35.7 percent in the first half of the year from the same period a year ago.
CCU said late on Wednesday profits rose to 64.551 billion pesos ($122 million) in the first six months of the year due mostly to the sale of part of a business unit.
The brewer, which has operations in Chile and Argentina, said its consolidated revenue rose 2.3 percent to 373.379 billion in the first half of the year. ($1=529.07 Chilean pesos at the end of June) (Reporting by Antonio de la Jara; Writing by Alonso Soto; Editing by Phil Berlowitz)
