HEADLINE STOCKS-U.S. stocks on the move on June 8

 NEW YORK, June 8 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move
on Monday:
 JPMORGAN CHASE & CO (JPM.N)
 GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)
 The U.S. Federal Reserve is expected to say that the two
financial services company will be allowed to repay TARP money,
according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

 Shares of Goldman fell 1.6 percent to $146.56 while Dow
component JPMorgan was up 1.6 percent to $35.10.
 MCDONALD'S CORP (MCD.N)
 McDonald's Corp (MCD.N) on Monday reported a 5.1 percent
increase in May sales at restaurants open at least 13 months,
with demand strong in Europe and Asia/Pacific. However, the
growth was down from April, when global same-store sales rose
6.9 percent.

 Shares of the Dow component fell 3.3 percent to $57.89.
 GENERAL MILLS INC (GIS.N)
 The food company expects 2009 earnings to exceed its prior
outlook of $3.87 to $3.89 a share by several cents per share.

 The stock rose 4.8 percent to $54.67.
 QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL INC (Q.N)
 The company said it is not selling its long-distance phone
network after completing a comprehensive review and a bidding
process with interested parties. [ID:nN08302874]
 Shares sank 2.2 percent to $4.09.
 AT&T INC (T.N)
 Goldman Sachs removed AT&T from its Americas Conviction Buy
list, "given recent underperformance as investors have rotated
out of later cycle telecom stocks."
 Shares of the Dow component fell 1.8 percent to $24.11.
 GLAXOSMITHKLINE (GSK.N)
 The company's experimental diabetes drug was shown to be
more effective than Eli Lilly (LLY.N) and Amylin
Pharmaceuticals' (AMLN.O) Byetta in controlling blood sugar, a
mid-stage test unveiled on Sunday. [ID:nL5159781]
 U.S.-listed shares of Glaxo slid 0.8 percent to $32.76.
 Micromet Inc (MITI.O)
 Shares of the pharmaceutical company soared 33 percent to
$6.14 after it's drug blinatumomab achieved its primary
endpoint in a Phase II study with acute lymphoblastic leukemia

 BLACKROCK (BLK.N)
 Barclays Plc (BARC.L) (BCS.N) is in talks to sell its
Barclays Global Investors unit, with BlackRock the frontrunner
to buy it for about $12 billion. [ID:nL8414031]
 Shares of BlackRock rose 0.7 percent to $164.74.
 EQUINIX INC (EQIX.O)
 The company announced a proposed $250 million public
offering of convertible subordinated notes due 2016.

 Shares fell 5.3 percent to $71.89.
 VERTEX PHARMACEUTICALS INC (VRTX.O)
 The company will exchange $103.3 million of its 2013
convertible senior subordinated notes into common stock.

 Shares were down 0.5 percent to $30.63.
 COUSINS PROPERTIES INC (CUZ.N)
 The company's chairman and CEO Thomas Bell will retire on
July 1 and will be replaced by Larry Gellerstedt III, Cousins's

 Shares fell 0.6 percent to $10.24.
 HOME DEPOT INC (HD.N)
 The company's stock "looks like a bargain," Barron's wrote,
arguing that the home improvement retailer had slowed expansion
and attempted to improve customer service. [ID:nN07251889]
 Shares of the Dow component slid 0.5 percent to $24.04.
 ALLSTATE CORP (ALL.N)
 Shares of the insurance company could be due to extend a
recent rally after it cut back its risk and focused on auto and
homeowner policies, Barron's wrote in its latest issue.

 Shares rose about 1 percent to $25.29.
 PIEDMONT NATURAL GAS CO INC (PNY.N)
 The company reported a 10 percent rise in quarterly profit
and backed its full-year profit view. [ID:nBNG464398]
 Shares rose 2.1 percent to $24.22.
