NEW YORK, May 8 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Friday:
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
CITIGROUP INC (C.N)
U.S. regulators told top banks that they need to raise capital. [ID:nN07333426]
Bank of America needs to raise $33.4 million while Citigroup needs $5.5 billion and Wells Fargo needs $13.7 billion.
Shares of BofA gained 4.4 percent to $14.11 while Citigroup was up 7.9 percent to $4.11. Both companies are Dow components.

SUNTRUST (STI.N)
Rochdale Securities analyst Richard Bove said the three banks had unclear plans to add capital.
"KeyCorp intends to convert its preferred but if it keeps losing money it may find that this does not meet the requirement," Bove wrote. "Regions Financial is seeking advice from its investment bank and this may include selling the company. SunTrust has made no statement but is likely to issue a government convertible preferreds in my judgment."
Regions shares rose 21 percent to $6.35 while KeyCorp was up 12.8 percent at $7.65 and SunTrust rose 10 percent to $20.37.
MCDONALD'S CORP (MCD.N)
The fast food company reported an increase of 6.9 percent in its global April same-store sales. [ID:nN08480433]
Shares of the Dow component rose 2.6 percent to $54.77.
HUNTSMAN CORP (HUN.N)
Shares sank 14 percent to $5.04 after the chemical maker reported a quarterly loss that was wider than expected. Shares dropped 7.5 percent to $5.43. [ID:nN08451409]
MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N)
The investment bank said an offering of 146 million common shares was priced at $24 per share, a discount of nearly 12 percent to its Thursday closing price. [ID:nN08452600]
Shares rose 1 percent to $27.41.
WELLS FARGO & CO (WFC.N)
The bank priced 341 million common shares at $22 per share, a source familiar with the matter said, raising a more-than-expected $7.5 billion in new equity, but at a discount of about 11 percent to their Thursday closing price. [ID:nN08456416]
Shares rose 6.3 percent to $26.33.
DENDREON CORP (DNDN.O)
The biotech company said it was offering 10.7 million shares of its common stock in a public offering, as it seeks resources to support the sale of its experimental prostate cancer vaccine. [ID:nN08448913]
Shares fell 1.7 percent to $19.43.
VNUS MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES INC (VNUS.O)
Covidien Ltd (COV.N) said it would buy VNUS for about $440
million, or $29 a share in cash, a deal that represents a
premium of 36 percent to VNUS's Thursday closing price.

VNUS shares rose 35 percent to $28.72 while Covidien shares rose 1.4 percent to $34.69.
CBS CORP (CBS.N)
Shares of the media company rose 3.2 percent to $8.32 a day after it reported its first-quarter results. [ID:nN07379768]
WINDSTREAM CORP (WIN.N)
The company reported its first-quarter results and forecast a dividend payout ratio between 57 percent and 63 percent in 2009. [ID:nWNAB6341]
Shares rose 3.1 percent to $9.05.
EL PASO CORP (EP.N)
The company first-quarter earnings that beat expectations and said its hedge positions significantly expended for 2010 with new hedges in place for 2011. [ID:nN08404085]

SCRIPPS NETWORKS INTERACTIVE INC (SNI.N)
