NEW YORK, July 10 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Friday:
CHEVRON CORP (CVX.N)
The oil giant warned that second-quarter earnings would be hit by a sharp decline in U.S. refining margins and that any benefits from higher oil prices were largely offset by a weaker U.S. dollar. For details, see [ID:nN09478562]
Shares of the Dow component fell 2.8 percent to $61.34.
JPMORGAN CHASE & CO (JPM.N)
The company, seeking to extricate itself from a federal bailout program, has asked the U.S. Treasury to auction stock warrants the bank issued when it received $25 billion of federal bailout money, after failing to reach agreement on what the warrants are worth. [ID:nN10499273]
Shares fell 3.6 percent to $32.42.
CIT GROUP INC CIT.N
The company said it was in active talks with the government for federal support, as its shares fell to a record low on concerns it would be excluded. [ID:nN10512053]
The stock dropped 23 percent to $1.43 and hit a new low of $1.13 in intraday trading.
PIPER JAFFRAY CO (PJC.N)
FBR Capital Markets raised its price target on Piper Jaffray to $35 from $30, a move it said reflected the expectation for improvement investment banking and better fixed-income trading. [ID:nWNAB6082]
Shares of Piper Jaffray rose 1 percent to $42.25.
PHILIP MORRIS INTERNATIONAL INC (PM.N)
