Shareholders of media company Walt Disney (DIS.N) will vote on Tuesday on a
proposal that will give them a nonbinding, advisory vote on the pay packages
given to Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger and other top executive, the Los
Angeles Times reported.
"With the advisory vote, we want to provide the company with feedback on
whether the board did a good job in explaining the basis for their compensation
decisions," the paper quoted Hye-Won Choi as saying. Choi is the head of
corporate governance issues for TIAA-Cref, which owns about 14.6 million shares
of Disney. [ID:nBNG504152]

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner late Monday said that the U.S. was

commodities, financial stocks, and consumer spending.
"We're doing more in weeks than other counties do in years," he told
Reuters, adding, "We're going to move with as much urgency as possible."
Though Geithner didn't provide any new details to his plan to remove bad
assets from bank balance sheets, he maintained that Democratic lawmakers were

credit.
