US STOCKS-Dow, S&P 500 drop after consumer sentiment report

NEW YORK, July 10 (Reuters) - The Dow industrials and the S&P 500 reversed their initial bounce on Friday and Nasdaq trimmed gains following a report that showed U.S. consumer sentiment soured in early July, slipping to its weakest level since March.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 48.37 points, or 0.59 percent, at 8,134.80. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX fell 4.72 points, or 0.53 percent, at 877.96. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 1.95 points, or 0.11 percent, at 1,754.50. (Reporting by Ellis Mnyandu; editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
