HEADLINE STOCKS-U.S. stocks on the move on Tuesday

NEW YORK, May 12 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on Tuesday:
BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)
The bank sold $7.3 billion worth of shares in China Construction Bank, according to a source familiar with the matter. The shares were sold for HK$4.20 each, which represents a 14.3 percent discount to their Monday close. [ID:nHKG158391]
Shares of the Dow component fell 1.5 percent to $12.71.
CITIGROUP INC (C.N)
The bank is using almost all of the money it received in government bailouts to make new loans, according to the Associated Press. [ID:nBNG471254]
Shares of the Dow component fell 0.5 percent to $3.84.
ALPHA NATURAL RESOURCES INC (ANR.N)
FOUNDATION COAL HOLDINGS INC (FCL.N)
Alpha said it would buy Foundation Coal for $2 billion in stock, or $32.73 a share, a 41 percent premium to Foundation's Monday closing price of $23.24. [ID:nBNG366514]
Shares of Alpha rose fell 2 percent to $28.25 while Foundation shares gained 36 percent to $31.50.
HAYES LEMMERZ INTERNATIONAL INC HAYZ.O
The auto parts maker filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. [ID:nBNG116826]
The stock sank 56 percent to 13 cents.
FORD MOTOR CO (F.N)
The auto company late Monday said it would sell 300 million common shares and use part of the proceeds to pay off its healthcare obligations to the United Auto Workers under the terms of a recently concluded deal with the union. [ID:nN11100156]
Shares slid 9.2 percent to $5.53.
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC (AIG.N)
The insurance company's CEO will speak out against criticism of its employees on Wednesday and will talk about future plans, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. [ID:nBNG138703]
Shares rose 0.5 percent to $1.91.
WARNACO GROUP INC (WRC.N)
The apparel company reported adjusted first-quarter earnings that beat expectations. [ID:nN12464646]
Its shares fell 1.5 percent to $28.40
NEW YORK TIMES CO (NYT.N)
Media mogul David Geffen offered to buy a stake in the newspaper company from hedge fund Harbinger Capital Partners, but was rejected because the fund's manager wanted him to pay a premium. [ID:nN11188410]
Shares rose 1.8 percent to $6.90.
WINN-DIXIE STORES INC'S (WINN.O)
The supermarket chain reported third-quarter results that beat expectations. [ID:nBNG461311]
Shares rose 15 percent to $13.19.
ROSETTA STONE INC (RST.N)
The language software company forecast a second-quarter loss due to a charge. [ID:nBNG453721]
Shares tumbled 7.4 percent to $27.30.
PROGENICS PHARMACEUTICALS INC (PGNX.O)
The company posted a quarterly loss that was narrower than estimates and said it cut 10 percent of its work force. [ID:nBNG458827]
Shares gained 6.9 percent to $6.05.
STIFEL FINANCIAL CORP (SF.N)
The company reported a quarterly profit that missed estimates. [ID:nBNG460226]
Shares fell 6.3 percent to $47.31.
NATIONAL FINANCIAL PARTNERS (NFP.N)
The life insurance distributor swung to a first-quarter net loss as it recorded a charge for goodwill impairment. [ID:nBNG459164]
Shares fell 21 percent to $6.47.
STEC INC'S (STEC.O)
The tech company reported its first-quarter results and forecast second-quarter results above expectations. [ID:nBNG460385]
Shares surged 33 percent to $13.80.
NAUTILUS INC'S (NLS.N)
The fitness-equipment maker's quarterly loss more than doubled, hurt by restructuring charges from closure of a manufacturing unit and a write-off tied to abandoned information technology software. [ID:nBNG287099]
Shares were unchanged at 97 cents.
DTS INC (DTSI.O)
The entertainment technology company posted quarterly results that beat Wall Street expectations but forecast a fiscal year 2009 profit below estimates. [ID:nBNG458138]
Shares rose 3.3 percent to $25.40.
MAXYGEN INC (MAXY.O)
Shares the of biotechnology company rose 3.2 percent to $5.17 after it reported a first-quarter loss that narrowed from the prior year.
