NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on Tuesday:

GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)

The company reported a 33 percent increase in second-quarter earnings, helped by a strong gain in trading, though that was partially offset by a one-time charge to repay government loans. For more see [ID:nN14175292].

Shares edged 0.4 percent lower to $148.83 in premarket trading.

JOHNSON & JOHNSON CO (JNJ.N)

The pharmaceutical company reported second-quarter results that beat expectations. [ID:nN14253944]

Shares of the Dow component rose 5.3 percent to $58.70 in premarket trading.

DELL INC (DELL.O)

The company forecast lower gross margins in the July quarter as demand has shifted toward cheaper computers such as netbooks, while prices of components are rising. [ID:nN13208933]

Shares dropped 3.6 percent to $12.55 in premarket trading.

NOVEN PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NOVN.O)

Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co (4530.T) agreed to buy the company for $430 million. [ID:nT77072]

Shares gained 22 percent to $16.48 in premarket trading.

NOVELLUS SYSTEMS INC (NVLS.O)

The company reported a second-quarter loss that was wider than expected, though it also gave a robust revenue outlook. [ID:nN13212985]
