UPDATE 2-Total LNG cargo due at Sabine Pass Apr 16
(Adds Sabine Pass dispatcher confirmation)
NEW YORK, April 14 (Reuters) - Total's (TOTF.PA) LNG Sokoto liquefied natural gas tanker is set to arrive at the Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana on April 16, the terminal dispatcher confirmed on Wednesday.
The cargo, sourced from Nigeria LNG, is the first shipment of the super-cooled gas that Total has sent to the newly commissioned terminal.
"It should be coming in sometime around 11 a.m. [Thursday]," a dispatcher spokesman said.
Total's 10 billion-cubic-metre per year capacity at Sabine Pass came into effect only two weeks ago, following an agreement with terminal operator Cheniere Energy (LNG.A) which began on April 1.
The terminal opened in April 2008, but has since received only test cargoes bought by Cheniere.
Chevron Corp (CVX.N) will also have 1 billion cubic feet per day of capacity at the terminal starting in July this year. (Reporting by Edward McAllister; editing by Jim Marshall)
