WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Generic drugmaker Lannett Co (LCI.A) on Thursday said it is working with U.S. regulators to ensure a safe supply of the heart failure drug digoxin, following a recall of another version of the drug.

The Food and Drug Administration late last month announced the recall of the Digitek brand of digoxin, sold by Actavis Totowa and distributed by Mylan MYL.N.

Lannett said it has secured additional active ingredients to meet U.S. demand.

The FDA said the Digitek tablets may contain twice the amount of the active ingredient, which could put patients at risk, including the possibility of death.
