SunTrust hires Wells exec to run business banking
NEW YORK, June 16 (Reuters) - SunTrust Banks Inc (STI.N) said on Tuesday it hired Bill Holt from Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N) as its new head of business banking.
Holt will join Atlanta-based SunTrust in mid-July, spokesman Hugh Suhr said. He is a veteran of Wachovia Corp, where he had been head of community banking.
Wells Fargo bought Wachovia at the end of 2008. Most of Wachovia's former top executives, including Chief Executive Robert Steel, have left the combined company or taken lower-ranking positions at Wells Fargo.
David Carroll, Wells Fargo's head of wealth, brokerage and retirement services, is the only former top Wachovia executive in upper Wells Fargo management, according to the bank's website. (Reporting by Jonathan Stempel; Editing by Derek Caney)
