WisdomTree to launch India ETF on NYSE Arca

NEW YORK, Feb 21 (Reuters) - WisdomTree Investments Inc (WSDT.PK) is set to launch a U.S.-registered exchange-traded fund investing in Indian stocks, a spokesman said on Thursday.

The WisdomTree India Earnings Fund, billed as the first ETF to offer "pure exposure" to local Indian securities, will begin trading on the NYSE Arca under the ticker "EPI" on Friday.

The new ETF will be based on an earnings-weighted index of Indian stocks.

It will be the 40th ETF offered by WisdomTree through WisdomTree Trust. WisdomTree manages more than $4 billion in assets. (Reporting by Cal Mankowski; Editing by Dan Grebler)
