UPDATE 1-Mesa Air restructures some senior notes

CHICAGO, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Struggling U.S. airline Mesa Air Group (MESA.O) on Thursday said it has restructured some of its senior convertible notes due 2023 and 2024.

The new terms waive the Jan. 31, 2009 put right for $15.6 million in aggregate principal amount at maturity of the 2023 notes.

"We are continuing to negotiate with certain of the remaining holders regarding restructuring such obligations," said Chief Executive Jonathan Ornstein.

Shares of Mesa were down 0.06 percent at 16 cents on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Kyle Peterson; Editing by Tom Hals)
