Robert W. Baird upgraded Waters Corp (WAT.N) to outperform, citing a weaker
U.S. dollar and stabilizing big pharma demand.
With the weakened U.S. dollar, the brokerage said it expects many life-science tools companies to see a slight boost in revenue and earnings beginning in the fourth quarter of 2009 and into 2010.
Potential upside from the stabilization of big pharma demand could come in second half of 2009, as some of the big mergers are completed and as companies get traction with new product offerings, it added.
