Mexico stocks jump as Carso Telecom rebounds

MEXICO CITY, April 22 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks jumped on Wednesday, led by gains in holding companies Carso Telecom (TELECOMA1.MX) and Grupo Carso (GCARSOA1.MX), which recovered from steep drops on Tuesday.

The IPC stock index .MXX rose 1.22 percent to 21,475. The index had been hit Tuesday when a late-session wave of selling that traders said was caused by a large bank squaring a derivatives position. (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle, Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
