UPDATE 1-IMS Health profit meets Street, revenue slips
* Q1 EPS of 38 cents ex items in line with analysts
* Strong dollar weighs on revenue
NEW YORK, April 23 (Reuters) - IMS Health Inc (RX.N), which provides market data on the pharmaceutical industry, said net income more than doubled on a huge tax gain, but revenue fell 8 percent as the strong dollar hurt foreign sales.
Net income rose to $133.3 million, or 73 cents per share, compared with $59.2 million, or 32 cents, a year earlier.
Excluding items, earnings of 38 cents per share were in line with the average estimate of analysts, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Lewis Krauskopf, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
