 American International Group Inc's (AIG.N) plans to sell
its broker-dealer business, AIG Advisor Group, are facing
hurdles, the New York Post said.
 Division CEO Arthur Tambaro in April said that AIG was in
final discussions with a potential buyer, the paper said. But
two months later, no deal has been struck.
 Two sources told the paper that mutual-fund company
Fidelity Investments considered providing financing for an
unnamed bidder, but backed out. Fidelity declined to comment to
the paper.

 Shares of AIG rose 2 cents to $1.43 in premarket trading.

 Barclays Capital on Wednesday upgraded EMC Corp (EMC.N) to
overweight from equal weight, saying the company's business is
currently stabilizing into a new product cycle and that sales
and gross margins could accelerate through 2010.
 "Long term, we believe the company is well-positioned to
benefit from utilization era trends including cloud computing
and server virtualization," the firm wrote, lifting its price
target on the stock to $16 from $12.

 Shares of EMC rose 1.8 percent to $12.81 in premarket
trading.

 U.S. index futures rose on Wednesday, with the Federal
Reserve expected to say it will not raise interest rates for
some time. Investors are also looking for a report on durable
goods and new home sales.
