NEW YORK, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Financial newspaper Barron's named ten small to mid-sized technology companies in its Oct. 26 edition that it said were most likely to be consumed as big companies look to grow through acquisitions.

While merger potential is not necessarily a reason to buy a stock, Barron's said, it can offer underlying support to share prices.

The companies include networking players Riverbed Technology (RVBD.O), Brocade Communications (BRCD.O), Juniper Networks JNPR.O and F5 Networks (FFIV.O).

Server software suppliers are BMC Software (BMC.O), Red Hat (RHT.N) and Citrix Systems (CTXS.O).

Storage companies include CommVault Systems (CVLT.O), 3Par (PAR.N), and NetApp (NTAP.O), Barron's said.
