South Korean foreign minister Yu Myung-hwan said on Thursday that official talks between North Korea and the United States were expected to be held by the end of this year or early next year.

The Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) is considering imposing penalties on 26 air carriers, including two domestic companies, for allegedly colluding in setting freight charges, a KFTC official said on Thursday.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

The National Pension Service, the world's fifth-largest pension fund, is planning a facility investment for the first time, injecting 380 billion won ($323.5 million) into POSCO's (005490.KS) energy arm POSCO Power to support its facility construction, according to industry sources on Thursday.

President Lee Myung-bak will leave Seoul for three days from Nov. 13 to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Singapore.
