MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER
Shinhan Bank, a unit of Shinhan Financial Group (055550.KS), recently repatriated 20 billion yen ($222.6 million) in capital collected by its Japanese venture Shinhan Bank Japan and is considering bringing in more, according to industry sources.
KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said Wednesday it had indicted seven senior engineers at Ssangyong Motor Co (003620.KS) on charges of leaking key gasoline-electric hybrid car technology to China's SAIC Motor Corp (600104.SS) in 2006. Ssangyong is majority owned by SAIC but under court protection.
A South Korean company's operation in Afghanistan has been attacked by armed assailants three times recently, according to the foreign ministry.
