Singapore Hot Stocks-Keppel Corp, Sembcorp Marine in focus

 SINGAPORE, Dec 30 (Reuters) - Oil players such as Keppel
Corp (KPLM.SI) and Sembcorp Marine (SCMN.SI) may be in focus on
Tuesday after oil prices rose $2 on Israel's attack on
Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip and weak dollar.
 Wall Street slid on Monday after Kuwait pulled out of a
joint venture with Dow Chemical due to the deepening global
recession, threatening Dow's planned takeover of Rohm & Haas.

Stocks and factors to watch:
 -- CITY DEVELOPMENTS (CTDM.SI)
 - City Developments said it had increased its medium term
note programme to S$1.5 billion ($1.04 billion) from S$700
million. The medium term note programme began in May 1999 that
permits City Development to sell bonds used to refinance debts

 -- CORTINA HOLDINGS (CORT.SI)
 - Cortina said that S$7.9 million ($5.50 million) worth of
watches was stolen from its Raffles City retail outlet on 26
December. Cortina said that the theft will have adverse impacts
on its FY2008 results which ends on March 2009. [ID:nSNCT60951]
  -- ST ENGINEERING (STEG.SI)
 - ST Electronics, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, won
contracts worth S$86 million ($59.85 million) to provide a
security system, IT infrastructure and a carpark payment system

 -- UNITED ENGINEERS (UTES.SI)
 - United Engineers proposed a rights issue of S$136 million
($94.64 million) to help the firm raise funds for operations,
strategic investments or acquisitions. [ID:nSNCU60032]
 - Singapore's benchmark Straits Times Index .FTSTI gained
3.18 percent to 1,780.57 points on Monday.
 - The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 0.37 percent
to 8,483.93. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was down by 1.3
percent to 1,510.32.
