STRAITS TIMES

- The Monetary Authority of Singapore warned of further steps to cool the housing market, one week after the government said it would release ample land for condominiums next year.

- DBS Group's (DBSM.SI) new chief executive Piyush Gupta said in a memo to staff he hopes to be able to review the Singapore bank's strategy and provide a road map in three to four months. Gupta, Citigroup's (C.N) former head for Southeast Asia and Australia, started work on Monday.

BUSINESS TIMES

- Wealthy investors in Singapore are warming to structured products again, one year after many lost money following the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

- Hong Leong Finance (HLSF.SI) has slashed mortgage rates for government-built HDB apartments in a bid to attract more business in a low interest rate environment. The finance firm is offering a fixed rate of 1.63 percent in the first year and 2.63 percent in the second year.
