SHANGHAI, May 13 (Reuters) - Honda Motor (7267.T) said on
Wednesday its China passenger car sales in April rose 9.6
percent from a year earlier to 42,062 units, lagging a 37.37
percent gain in the country's overall car market.

Honda competes with Toyota Motor (7203.T) and other major
global auto makers in China.

Guangzhou Honda is Honda's manufacturing joint venture with
Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, which is the parent of Hong
Kong-listed Denway Motors (0203.HK).

Dongfeng Honda is a tie-up with Dongfeng Motor (0489.HK),
China's third-largest automaker.
