Sept 30 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 0500 GMT on Wednesday.

** Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the world's largest bank by market value, plans to buy Thailand's ACL Bank ACL.BK for about $545 million, helping it expand its footprint in Southeast Asia.

** Thailand's Siamgas and Petrochemicals PCL SGP.BK said a wholly owned subsidiary would buy a 99 percent stake in Chevron Ocean Gas & Energy Ltd from Chevron China Ltd for $51 million. [nBKK486228]

** China Overseas Land & Investment Ltd (0688.HK) said it plans to make a general offer for Shell Electric Manufacturer (Holdings) (0081.HK) worth up to HK$3.4 billion ($438.7 million). [nHKG56780]

** Solar raw material provider Hoku Scientific Inc (HOKU.O) said it is selling a majority stake to China's Tianwei New Energy Holdings Co to raise the financing to finish its plant in Idaho, sending Hoku shares up 43 percent after-hours. [nN29170431]
