** A dispute over marketing rights held by mining group Xstrata's (XTA.L) biggest shareholder is threatening a possible takeover by Brazil's Vale (VALE5.SA) RIO.N worth around $90 billion, a source close to the situation said.

** Colonial's (COL.MC) shareholders have asked the Investment Corporation of Dubai to make changes to a takeover bid worth more than 3 billion euros ($4.53 billion), the Spanish property company said. [nL28651734]
** British American Tobacco, the world's second-biggest cigarette maker, struck its second deal in a week with the purchase of Skandinavisk Tobakskompagni's (ST) cigarettes for 2 billion pounds ($4 billion) as it beat forecasts with an 11 percent rise in 2007 earnings. [nL2893687]
