Paladin approves Namibia uranium mine expansion
SYDNEY, June 30 (Reuters) - African miner Paladin Energy Ltd (PDN.AX) will go ahead with an expansion of its flagship uranium mine in Namibia, but to a size below an original target, the company said on Tuesday.
The stage-three expansion will take annual production from its Langer Heinrich mine to 5.2 million pounds per year, down from an original target of 6 million tonnes, it said.
The modified production rate means the project would not be vulnerable to delays caused by requirements for additional water supplies, it said. (Reporting by James Regan)
