Westpac says to issue $540 mln in debt securities

SYDNEY, July 9 (Reuters) - Westpac Banking Corp (WBC.AX), Australia's second-largest lender, plans to issue $540 million in short-term debt securities, the bank said on Friday.

The bank said in a statement the securities would not be guaranteed by the Australian government.
