Tokyo Electron April-June orders up 82 pct qtr/qtr
TOKYO, July 9 (Reuters) - Japan's Tokyo Electron Ltd (8035.T) said on Thursday orders for its tools to make semiconductors, flat panel displays and solar panels rose 82 percent in April-June from the previous quarter to about 49 billion yen ($525.8 million).
Orders for tools used to make semiconductors more than doubled to 48 billion yen, while orders for gear used to make flat panel displays and solar panels fell 85 percent to 1 billion yen, said Tokyo Electron, the world's No.2 chip equipment maker behind Applied Materials Inc (AMAT.O).
