LONDON (Reuters) - Three companies demoted from the FTSE 100 .FTSE at the last quarterly index reshuffle -- London Stock Exchange (LSE.L), 3i Group (III.L) and Wolseley (WOS.L) -- will return following the latest rejig, unveiled on Wednesday.
They will replace non-life insurer Amlin (AML.L), leisure firm Whitbread (WTB.L) and power generator Drax Group (DRX.L) in the index of leading shares, index compiler FTSE said in a statement.
The changes, based on the closing share prices from Tuesday, June 9, were confirmed by a FTSE committee on Wednesday.
Companies outside the FTSE 100 that grow to rank among the 90 largest by market capitalisation are automatically promoted, while FTSE 100 constituents with the lowest value or that fall below 110th spot drop into the midcap FTSE 250 index .FTMC.
The index changes will be implemented at the start of business on Monday, June 22, FTSE said.
FTSE also said insulation and roofing group SIG (SHI.L), pubs group Punch Taverns (PUB.L), yellow pages company Yell (YELL.L), education and training company BPP Holdings (BPP.L) and waste management company Shanks Group (SKS.L) would be promoted to the midcap index.
Two new listings -- Lancashire Holdings (LRE.L) and Ecofin Water and Power Opportunities (ECW.L) -- would also enter the FTSE 250, the index compiler said.
Finsbury Worldwide Pharmaceutical (FWP.L), Foreign and Colonial Eurotrust (FCU.L), Baring Emerging Europe (BEE.L), International Personal Finance (IPF.L), Alternative Investment Strategies (AIS.L), Hansard Global (HSD.L) and Telecom Plus (TEP.L) would be booted out of the FTSE 250.
