Q-Cells says no profit warning plans now
FRANKFURT, July 3 (Reuters) - German solar power company Q-Cells (QCEG.DE) has no plans to issue a profit warning, a company spokesman said on Friday.
"If Q-Cell were planning to send out a profit warning, I would have heard about it," the spokesman told Reuters by telephone when was asked about the impact on the company from a profit warning from China's LDK Solar (LDK.N). The solar company gave a revenue forecast of $215 million to $225 million in the quarter ended June 30 on Thursday, down as much as 25 percent from the first quarter's $283.3 million. [ID:nN02104000]
The spokesman said that although LDK was one of Q-Cells' suppliers, LDK's new revenue forecast shouldn't affect Q-Cells.
"The joint venture the two companies have together is quite small and would not affect Q-Cells' profits," he added.
At 1023 GMT, shares in Q-Cells traded 3.6 percent lower, having fallen as much as 3.8 percent earlier in the session with traders pointing to vague market talk that Q-Cells might issue a profit warning.
