NEW YORK, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's on Wednesday said that money manager Invesco Ltd (IVZ.N) will replace media mogul Barry Diller's IAC/InterActive Corp (IACI.O) in its flagship Standard & Poor's 500 index .SPX after the close of trading on Aug. 20.

The change reflects IAC's planned spinoff of four units into separate, Nasdaq-listed companies: HSN, which operates the Home Shopping Network; the Interval time-share network; the Ticketmaster box office service; and Tree.com, a lending and real estate business.

Shares of companies joining the S&P 500 often rise because many portfolio managers try to track the index, and are required to buy shares of companies that enter it.

Invesco shares closed Wednesday down 69 cents at $23.56 prior to the S&P announcement. (Reporting by Jonathan Stempel, editing by Phil Berlowitz)
