NZ's Sanford full year profit more than doubles
WELLINGTON, Nov 26 (Reuters) - New Zealand's biggest listed fishing company, Sanford Ltd (SAN.NZ), said on Wednesday its full year net profit rose 165 percent due to high fish prices and the sale of assets.
Net profit for the year to Sept. 30 was NZ$53.3 million ($29.3 million) compared with NZ$20.1 million the year before.
It declared a final dividend of 14 cents a share, compared with 13 cents a share last year.
Shares in Sanford last traded down 1 percent at NZ$5.35. So far this year the stock has gained 32 percent against a 35 percent drop in the benchmark NZSX-50 index .NZ50.
The company said the fall in the New Zealand dollar offered the chance for an improved profit in the coming year, but the global outlook had given rise to considerable uncertainty. ($1=$1.82)
