Lannett gets FDA OK for additional use of generic obesity drug

Dec 12 (Reuters) - Drugmaker Lannett Co Inc (LCI.A) said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved an additional indication of its generic phentermine hydrochloride capsules used for the short-term management of obesity.

The Philadelphia-based company expects to begin marketing the product immediately.

Phentermine HCI is the generic equivalent of Teva's (TEVA.O) Adipex. (Reporting by John Tilak in Bangalore; Editing by Amitha Rajan)
