- MEGAWATI SAYS ELECTION QUICK COUNT RESULTS NOT VALID

Presidential candidate Megawati Sukarnoputri questioned the validity of the quick count results, saying that Indonesia's democracy was flawed because of millions of unregistered voters.

- GOLKAR MAY PICK NEW LEADER SOON, AFTER KALLA DEFEAT

Golkar official Marzuki Darusman said Jusuf Kalla's low popularity and campaign strategies were to blame for his defeat in the election, adding that a national meeting to decide on Golkar's leadership would be brought forward, with co-ordinating minister for welfare, Aburizal Bakrie, likely to replace Kalla as Golkar chairman.

- INDONESIA VALUES NEWMONT UNIT AT $3.5 BLN

Indonesia has valued PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara, a local unit of Newmont Mining Corp (NEM.N), at $3.5 billion, less than NTT's value of $3.8 billion, Energy Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said.

- BNI TO ARRANGE EXCELCOMINDO SYNDICATED LOAN

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BBNI.JK), the fourth-largest bank, has been appointed to arrange a 1.5 trillion rupiah ($147 million) syndicated loan for PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (EXCL.JK), the country's No. 3 mobile phone operator, BNI's head of corporate banking Rosa Delima Dwi Mutiari said.
