The order book at civil engineering consultancy WSP (WSPG.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) has been brought over the 1 billion pound mark partly by the win of the Northamptonshire sustainable highway services contract, with chief executive Christopher Cole saying that increase in the order book, up from 700 million pounds last year, reflected the company's rising profile abroad. Pre-tax profits for 2007 were up 42 percent at 37.4 million pounds on the back of a 29 percent rise in revenues to 539 million pounds.
