Little chance of higher, rival A&L bid: Santander
MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's Santander (SAN.MC) on Monday said it saw little chance of a higher, rival bid for Alliance & Leicester to compete with its 1.3 billion pound ($2.6 billion) offer for the UK bank.
"I see little chance of a higher bid," Santander Director General of Finance Jose Antonio Alvarez said during a Webcast following the announcement of the deal.
